Residential Support Workers – Children's Home


Location: Rainham, Essex


Full-time | Part-time | Permanent - Shift work (including evenings and weekends)

About Us

Sereni Residential Care provides high-quality residential care for children and young people aged 11-17 who may have experienced trauma, neglect, or other challenges. We're dedicated to offering a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where every young person can feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in the daily lives of the children in our care. You'll provide emotional and practical support, help with education and leisure activities, and promote independence and positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Supporting with daily routines, activities, and appointments.
  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support approaches.
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, and development.
  • Working closely with the wider care team, social workers, and families.
  • Maintaining accurate records and care plans.

About You

We're looking for caring, patient, and reliable individuals who are passionate about helping young people achieve better futures.

Essential:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a residential or care setting.
  • Compassionate, calm, and resilient nature.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Full UK driving licence.
