About the School/Service

The Legal & Governance Service plays a critical role in ensuring the University of East London meets its regulatory obligations while supporting a safe, inclusive, and compliant environment for students and staff. The service works across academic schools and professional teams to uphold legal standards, manage risk, and deliver strategic initiatives that support the university's mission and values.

The Immigration Compliance team sits within this service and is responsible for maintaining UEL's Student Sponsor Licence, ensuring compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations, and supporting international students throughout their journey.

About the Job

This role leads the day-to-day operations of the International Compliance team, coordinating institutional responses to UKVI sponsor duties and managing complex immigration casework. You'll oversee systems and processes that support visa compliance, including attendance monitoring, document checks, and CAS issuance, while advising staff and students on immigration matters.

You'll also contribute to sector best practice through engagement with external networks such as UKCISA and the International Compliance Network, and support the development of initiatives that enhance UEL's international compliance framework.
