About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our friendly kitchen team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.

Our busy clubhouse caters for members, guests, and visiting societies, offering a range of high-quality meals and event catering. This is a great opportunity for a motivated Assistant Chef to work within a well-established, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals for daily service, functions and events to a consistently high standard.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Chef and Clubhouse team to deliver a varied and appealing menu.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment in line with food hygiene and health & safety standards.
  • Assist with menu planning, stock control, and ordering as required.
  • Work flexibly to support the needs of the business, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Ability to supervise & direct staff
  • Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a small team.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided).
