A vacancy has arisen for a Caretaker/Handy Person to work alongside our team at Rushcombe.
The main role of the job is to undertake a range of duties that contribute to the security, safety and day to day maintenance of the school premises.
The post is a
fixed term part-time
52 week contract.
The Post Is
- Monday to Friday
- Hours of work: to include mornings and/or afternoons/ evenings (working times to be agreed)
- Rate of pay: £13.26 per hour
- Full time equivalent salary: £25,583
The post will be 25 hours per week and will include unlocking the school in the morning and / or locking up the school at the end of the day*. Other tasks will include general repairs & maintenance to the school building and grounds, undertaking regular health & safety checks [including buildings & grounds access checks during bad weather], risk assessment checks, such as fire procedures e.g. alarm/lighting/water checks and the re-stocking of consumables such as paper towels, soap etc.
- Working times will be agreed /confirmed with the successful candidate- there may be some flexibility.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert.
This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

Keeping Children Safe in Education
This School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
