Line Technician - Wallingford
Day Shift 6-2 and 2-10
Our Wallingford site has a new role for a
Line Technician
, who can carry out the line changes required to facilitate the production plan being achieved. Working as part of the line team to ensure all change overs are carried out to the standards set.
The Line Technician will deliver line change over improvements, through training and developing along working with other sections of the business to gain the necessary support to achieve the business targets.
You will also be responsible for operating and running of the following machinery: Descrambler, Filler, Capper, Heat Tunnel, Metal Detector, Weight System in line with the daily production plan.
Key Responsibilities Include
- To undertake the changing over and setting up of all equipment that forms the line - these are to be completed in the time allocated on the production plan and the schedule.
- Ensure that all equipment is safe to use by following the SOPs when carrying out the changeover.
- Liaise with engineering team on issues that require attention and support them in working on your line.
- Fill out team leaders' KPI downtime record sheet with details of equipment faults/component defects.
- Carry out basic PPM, following successful training and support the Engineers during planned PPM slots.
- Be part of the operational shift handover to ensure issues or updates on the line changeovers are communicated to the opposite shift.
- Understand the causes of all production losses, support initial investigation and subsequent problem solving, proposal and implementation of solutions.
- Carry out changeovers on the above equipment in line with the daily production plan using setting sheets and SOPs.
Qualifications
Qualifications and knowledge
- Trained and assessed to all equipment on the packing lines.
- NVQ Level 2 Food hygiene or equivalent (Desired)
- Good level of Numeracy (L1 equivalent)
Qualities and Experience
- Good problem solver who is proactive in recommending and implementing actions to solve issues or improve ways of working, with CI being part of that process.
- Good knowledge of policies and procedures relating to food preparation and packing.
- Attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
- Good organisational skills and be able to prioritise your own workload.
- Ability to understand work instructions and add to the development of PPM.
- Good awareness of allergens in line with HACCP risk assessments.
- Able to communicate with production teams and all other levels on site.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams and individuals in line with ASPIRE values and behaviours
