Role Overview

We are seeking an organised and proactive Buyer to manage the purchasing and scheduling of electronic components and printed circuit boards (PCBs) for our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring continuity of supply, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase and schedule all electronic components, PCBs, and related materials for manufacturing
  • Maintain the ERP system for stock monitoring and project kitting
  • Source and evaluate new suppliers, ensuring quality control and supplier approval processes are met
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and preferred arrangements
  • Lead supplier meetings and support supplier audits and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery in line with production requirements
  • Ensure timely and accurate booking-in of incoming stock deliveries into the inventory management system
  • Regularly check and reconcile stock levels to maintain accurate inventory records, investigating discrepancies and supporting efficient stock control
  • Liaise with design engineers to identify alternative components and manage end-of-life (EOL) or obsolete parts
  • Provide cross-functional support to production teams as required

About You

Essential

  • The Right to Work in the United Kingdom
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Confident managing supplier relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external teams
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, time management and follow-through

Desirable

  • Experience in a buying, procurement, or supply chain role (electronics or manufacturing preferred)
  • ERP system experience
  • Technical understanding of electronic components
  • Experience in liaising with engineering and production teams
