Indirect Tax Manager - Fast-growing Fintech Business - Up to £140k

Stanton House is currently recruiting for an Indirect Tax Manager to join an exciting, fast-growing Fintech Business in London. The permanent opportunity offers a salary of up to £140,000 per annum, plus benefits. This role offers flexible working with 3 days in their new London offices and the rest from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end VAT compliance for the group, ensuring accurate and timely returns and effective management of the VAT group.
  • Lead the maintenance and enhancement of the Partial Exemption Special Method (PESM), including calculations, analysis, and HMRC interactions.
  • Provide clear, commercially focused VAT guidance to the business on transactions, products, contracts, and operational changes.
  • Track VAT regulatory updates and evaluate their impact on the organisation.
  • Support the Senior Tax Manager and wider finance team on various projects such as system upgrades, process improvements, and controls work.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and HMRC, maintaining positive and transparent relationships.
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Product teams on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Managing a small team of two.

To be suitable for this role, you must have the following:

  • Professionally qualified accountant or tax advisor (ACA/CTA or equivalent).
  • Background in a Big 4 or leading tax advisory firm with strong VAT/indirect tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK VAT rules, especially within financial services.
  • Experience with partial exemption and VAT group arrangements.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
  • Confident communicator who can simplify complex VAT matters for non-technical stakeholders.
