The Opportunity

Are you a Chartered or Incorporated Electrical Engineer ready to take the lead on complex, sustainable engineering solutions that genuinely improve communities?

The UK Water sector is entering an extraordinary AMP cycle—an era of major investment, rapid innovation, and transformative infrastructure upgrades. Our client a Senior Principal Engineer to play a pivotal role in this journey. You'll be based from one of our key hubs in Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, Redditch, Birmingham, or Derby.

What you'll do:

  • Lead advanced EICA design services for major water-sector projects across the Southwest and Midlands.
  • Act as a technical authority—mentoring, developing, and inspiring the next generation of engineers.
  • Steer collaborative design discussions, including HAZOPs and technical workshops, to achieve outstanding outcomes for clients and communities.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders, enhancing our reputation for quality and innovation.

About You

  • Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer (Chartered or working toward)
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with team leadership
  • Strong capability in technical specifications, control philosophies, Single Line Diagrams, and technical reporting.
  • Confident navigating the full project lifecycle—from optioneering and feasibility studies through to detailed design.
  • Natural leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for developing others
