Job Overview: Mobile Locksmith With Experience (at least 1 year) – Self-Employed (London)

We are a well-established mobile locksmith company operating across London. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Mobile Locksmith to join our team on a self-employed basis.

This role involves providing exceptional service to clients by ensuring their security needs are met through expert installation, repair, and fixing locks and security devices.

Duties

  • Attend locksmith callouts across London (domestic, commercial, and emergency work)
  • Assess security needs and recommend appropriate solutions to clients.
  • Provide professional, reliable, and customer-focused service
  • Install, change, repair, and maintain various types of locks and locking mechanisms for residential and commercial properties.
  • Perform routine inspections of locks and security systems to ensure functionality.
  • Keep accurate records of services performed and materials used.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their needs and concerns.
  • Manage travel efficiently to complete the scheduled job.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a locksmith (minimum 1 year preferred) or in a similar role – percentage split will vary based on experience
  • Strong knowledge of lock types, key systems, and modern security hardware
  • Ability to troubleshoot lock issues and perform repairs effectively
  • Certification or prior training in locksmithing is a plus, but not essential
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively under pressure
  • Flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts when needed

Requirements

  • Valid UK driving licence and own vehicle (required for travel to client locations)
  • Locksmith tools and equipment (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and manage own schedule
  • Flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and emergency callouts when needed
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one
  • Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to perform under pressure
