Blair West are working in partnership with Nixon Hire to hire a qualified Management Accountant.

This is a key position within the Finance team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. The Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely management accounts, supporting business performance analysis, and strengthening Nixon Hire's financial insight as the company continues to grow.

The opportunity:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and commentary.
  • Take full ownership of the P&L, ensuring correct recording of revenues, costs, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Lead month-end close activities including journal posting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Partner with operational managers to provide meaningful insight into performance and business drivers.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller with audit preparation and year-end requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.
  • Supervise and develop the Assistant Management Accountant to support their professional growth.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and maintain oversight of receivables and payables ledgers.
  • Play an active role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles.

You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

  • Experience preparing full management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • A proactive and organised approach, particularly during month-end close cycles.
  • Proven experience improving financial processes, data quality, and reporting accuracy.
  • Excellent Excel skills, including lookups, pivots, and analytical tools.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior finance team members.
  • fully-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
