Network Development Assistant Project Manager

Salary: £35,200 - £52,800 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

You will
- Support the management, coordination and development of schemes triggered by load or non-load means across the SHET area, as well as schemes that interface with other Transmission Operators.
- Work closely with System Planning and Asset Management colleagues, developing effective relationships to ensure early alignment across disciplines and the consideration of whole system and whole lifecycle approaches in Area System Plans.
- Assist in developing competent technical designs, programmes (with Outage implications) and cost proposals for new transmission projects, in compliance with Construction, Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
- Contribute to the strategic optioneering of the network by supporting the development of options, their conceptual design, cost, and programme.
- Provide support to Transmission System Planning Engineers in the preparation of feasibility studies and conceptual design activities, ensuring that technical and commercial considerations are clearly captured.
You have
- An engineering or technical qualification (or equivalent experience), along with an interest in technical and engineering problem solving with transferable skills from previous roles or industries. Experience of supporting the development of infrastructure projects through early stage optioneering, routing, and feasibility assessments would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple internal teams and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- An understanding of commercial principles, project reporting and financial control within a large capital project environment.
- An interest or understanding of the electrical transmission network, with a willingness to build knowledge of regulatory frameworks and licence obligations of transmission owners.
- Awareness of safety and operational practices, including Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations and the importance of safety and environmental leadership in project development.
