We are delighted to offer this opportunity for an experienced transport planner in Port Clarence

Job description

We are looking for a new team member to assist with all aspects of transport planning in our Head office at Port Clarence. This will involve for example but not limited to:·

  • Plan, schedule, and allocate bulk vehicle loads in line with customer requirements.
  • Monitor live transport activity and respond to any issues or delays to minimise service disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with transport legislation, including driver hours and vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates and resolve any delivery or collection issues.
  • Optimise routing and backhauling opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, delivery documentation, and transport data using TMS software's.
  • Support the wider logistics team with continuous improvement initiatives.

The job will suit an individual with experience in the transport industry, and holding a CPC would be an advantage but not a minimum requirement as we can offer training.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate good communication skills, great attention to detail, is IT literate, and has a flexible can do attitude.

You would be joining the team working in our office from Industrial Chemicals Ltd, Port Clarence in Middlesbrough. We have a friendly and supportive culture where all opinions are valued. We work hard, but every day is different and very rewarding.

Salary: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
