The team…

We are seeking to appoint a qualified main grade Educational Psychologist to join our supportive and dynamic team to provide maternity cover. As a service we are committed to the application of solution-oriented approaches and evidence-based psychology to promote inclusion and achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. We have a central base in Gateshead and are also hybrid working. We are a supportive and welcoming team, with high quality administrative support.

About the role…

As an Educational Psychologist within the service, you will work with a number of schools to deliver our Service Level Agreement. This will involve working on strategic projects within the service and contributing to the Statutory Needs Assessment of children and young people with special educational needs by providing effective, high quality and outcomes-based psychological advice. We work throughout the pre-school to post-16 age range.

It is essential you have knowledge and understanding of current legislation and issues within Special Education Needs and school improvement. Experience of using applied psychology and evidence-based practice with children, young people and associated professionals in education and community settings is also required.

You will hold an Honours Degree in Psychology which provides eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered (GBC) membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Postgraduate training in Educational Psychology which is recognised by the Health Care Professions Council and HCPC registration is also essential.

You will hold a current driving licence and have access to a car or means to mobility support.
