Salary: £25k- £30k, dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week

Benefits: 20 days holiday increasing by 1 day per year to a max of 25 days pro-rata (28 days including bank holidays)

We're looking for an Accounts Assistant who's organised, accurate, and proactive – someone who enjoys keeping things balanced, tidy, and on track.

What you'll be doing

You'll make sure our finances are accurate, organised, and up to date — helping to keep the business running smoothly every day.

You'll be:

  • Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
  • Issuing customer statements and chasing payments to ensure healthy cash flow.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Recording purchases, receipts, sales, and payments accurately.
  • Paying supplier invoices promptly and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and ensuring all accounts balance correctly.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager and wider team with ad hoc accounting or reporting tasks.

What we're looking for

You don't need to tick every box, but we're ideally looking for someone who has:

  • A qualification in bookkeeping or financial administration.
  • Significant prior experience in bookkeeping across all listed duties.
  • Proficiency in Sage (this one's essential).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort with financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • A calm, methodical approach and genuine pride in getting things right.

Required Experience

· Qualification in bookkeeping / financial administration

· Experience in Sage 200 (essential)

.Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort with financial reporting tools.

· Significant prior experience in bookkeeping in all of the above duties

· Highly organised with excellent Microsoft Excel skills

· Able to work alone and be focused on results
