Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a dynamic culinary environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety, and delivering excellent service to our customers. Duties
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of dishes, including salads, main courses, and desserts
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes as directed by senior staff
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and adhere to hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist with serving food to customers when required, providing friendly and efficient service
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness
- Basic culinary skills including meal preparation techniques and ingredient handling
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction when serving
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy kitchen setting
