The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Public Engagement team as
Senior Manager, Schools and Youth Engagement.
In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of the Glasgow 2026 Schools and Youth Engagement Programme, ensuring meaningful opportunities for children and young people across Scotland to learn, participate, and lead as part of the Games.

Working collaboratively with education partners, youth organisations, and internal teams, you'll create programmes that inspire pride, curiosity, and connection to the Games. You'll oversee the development of learning resources, participatory projects, and youth-led initiatives that encourage creativity, teamwork, and inclusivity.

This is a key position that combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll shape how the next generation experiences the Games, helping to create a legacy of inspiration and opportunity for young people across Glasgow, Scotland, and the Commonwealth.

Job Summary:
As Senior Manager, Schools and Youth Engagement, you will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of a dynamic engagement programme for schools and young people. You'll develop frameworks and systems that ensure high-quality delivery, accessible resources, and measurable impact, while coordinating activity across multiple partners and education networks.

You'll work closely with local authorities, national agencies, and youth organisations to co-create meaningful projects that connect classrooms and communities with the excitement of the Games. Collaborating with colleagues in marketing and communications, you'll ensure that opportunities are effectively promoted across schools and digital platforms.

You'll oversee a dedicated team and manage freelancers and volunteers to deliver engagement initiatives efficiently and creatively. A strong advocate for young people, you'll ensure safeguarding standards are upheld and inclusion is at the heart of every project.

This role offers the chance to make a lasting difference, empowering young people to take part, learn, and lead through the power of sport.

Key Skills And Experience
You'll bring substantial experience in leading schools or youth engagement programmes within sport, culture, education, or major events. Skilled in programme design, delivery, and evaluation, you'll create systems and processes that ensure impact, consistency, and excellence.

A confident collaborator, you'll have proven success in building strong partnerships with schools, local authorities, and youth organisations, and in engaging young people through inclusive initiatives. You'll be adept at working with communications and digital teams to promote opportunities effectively and creatively.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential, alongside strong organisational and analytical abilities. You'll thrive in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments, managing multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

As an inspiring and empathetic leader, you'll motivate teams and partners to deliver their best, demonstrating professionalism, creativity, and commitment to inclusion.

Experience working within the Scottish education system, knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence, and familiarity with major event environments would be advantageous.
