Management Accountant

Stamford

A growing accountancy practice is seeking a Management Accountant to join its outsourcing team. This role offers the chance to work with a varied client base, take ownership of financial reporting, and support both clients and junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts, including forecasts and budget comparisons.
  • Supervise and support junior team members, offering guidance and feedback.
  • Manage payroll processes and related reviews.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for clients.
  • Prepare and review VAT returns.
  • Provide practical advice to clients on financial processes and systems.
  • Offer interim support to clients as needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, with strong understanding of VAT.
  • Experience preparing management accounts, cashflows, KPIs, and budgets.
  • Practical knowledge of payroll processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Confident in client communication and teamwork.
  • Familiarity with Xero, Sage, or Key Accounts software is desirable.
  • AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, with practice experience preferred.
  • Interest in rural business, estates, or renewables is a plus.
