If so, we have several exciting opportunities for driven and ambitious Category Buyers to join or Procurement team, in our Norwich or York office. This is a great job for someone with previous business development experience, who is keen to progress their career working for the UK's leading Insurance, Wealth and Retirement business

A bit about the job:

Reporting to a Principal Category Manager (PCM) you'll deliver high quality Procurement support that underpins both the control of Aviva's third party spend and the identification of opportunities for improving value. Delivering at pace in this high performing team you'll work directly with our supply partners, review and maintain up-to-date supply market information and support the team with category specific supplier and spend research.

You'll become the subject matter expert for supply market, supplier performance and financial analysis whilst also ensuring the Procurement systems and tools are effectively utilised within the end-to-end sourcing process. You will support the business and make it click for our customers, run sourcing activities that meet the need of the business and support our ambitious sustainability agenda.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • General commercial acumen including a strong sense of value for money
  • Business/financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex data
  • Awareness of/interest in basic contract law principles and an interest in supply market forces and impacts
  • Ability to work within a dynamic and fast evolving environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and previous experience in a business-to-business environment preferred
