A bit about the role.
We're looking for a hard-working, ambitious and skilled Management Accountant to join our fantastic Operations Finance team based at our Fresh pet food production & fulfilment site in Blyth, Doncaster.
The Operations Finance Team is responsible for the numbers coming out of the facility, and oversees the controls around core cost inputs such as stock movements, direct labour utilisation and factory overheads whilst also helping to ensure the appropriate return on investment on CAPEX. Success here means consistently bringing about incremental improvement in our numbers by spotlighting sources of slippage, unlocking insight-backed opportunities and surfacing potential risks that may derail the site's numbers from hitting plan so they can be effectively mitigated.
This role will report directly into the Finance Manager (operations) and is responsible for management accounting and reporting activities relating to the site, and will partner closely with both the other members of the Finance team across our Group and International teams, as well as site Management.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Demonstrate foundational excellence in day-to-day accounting and period end activities, across the P&L and balance sheet
- Own production the of weekly KPI reporting, providing valuable insight to Operations & Procurement teams to drive consistent improvement in our production processes and unit economics
- Play a key role in role in maintaining highly accurate stock accounting and reporting, in partnership with supply chain
- Investigate and report on variances to budget in site running costs and overheads
- Drive technology and systems improvement projects, in an AI enabled environment
- Implement robust controls around key processes and cost inputs, and ensure they are adhered to
- Collaborate with International manufacturing and fulfilment sites to ensure consistency in processes and reporting
A bit about you.
- Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent with 2 years PQE (or equivalent)
- Solid experience within Manufacturing, Retail or FMCG will be hugely beneficial
- SAP/SAP B1 experience desirable
- Strong communicator & collaborator
- Have a deeply curious mindset and thrive in a fast- paced, high growth environment
- A self-starter with a 'can do' attitude and exceptional attention to detail
- Love of pets

A few things to note:
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position. The role follows a hybrid (3 days in office and 2 days remote) standard office hours 9am-5pm with some flexibility when needed.
