About the Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification in Early Years (Level 3), while gaining real experience in a busy nursery setting.

You'll work alongside qualified practitioners who will support your learning, guide your professional development, and help you build confidence in your role.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll receive training on:

  • Child development and learning through play
  • Safeguarding and child protection
  • Health and safety in early years settings
  • Equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Communication and positive behaviour management

Key Responsibilities

As a Nursery Apprentice, you will:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development.
  • Supervise and interact with children to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support daily routines including mealtimes, sleep times, and personal care.
  • Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with your mentor or key person.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting the nursery's ethos and values.
  • Follow all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety.
  • Attend training sessions and complete coursework assignments as required by your training provider.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about working with children and supporting their development.
  • Caring, patient, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to learn new skills.
  • Able to show initiative and a positive attitude in a busy environment.
  • Committed to completing their apprenticeship programme successfully.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be aged 16 or over.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • A genuine interest in childcare and early years education.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Some previous experience with children (e.g., volunteering, babysitting, or a school placement).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Pay: From £7.55 per hour
