The Environment Centre is a community hub inspiring positive action for a greener and healthier future that has been championing environmental action in Swansea for 30 years. They encourage and facilitate activity that helps protect our environment and tackle the challenges of plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, and climate change.

Operations & Development Manager

Salary: £31,500 - £33,075 per annum/pro rata (depending on experience)
Hours: 28 hours per week (occasional evenings and weekends required)
Position Type: Fixed term, until 30th June 2027
Location: Based at The Environment Centre, Pier Street, Swansea, SA1 1RY
The Environment Centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary as a hub for environmental and community action in Swansea.

The Centre is home to a range of projects and initiatives that support individuals and communities to take meaningful environmental action—and they are looking for someone to help lead them into their next chapter.

They are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join the senior team and support the sustainable development of the charity. This is a key leadership role, responsible for the successful delivery of core services and activities, strengthening volunteer provision, overseeing fundraising, and supporting the well-being and development of the Centre's staff.

Key Responsibilities Include
Managing day-to-day operations at the Centre on Pier Street

Leading on volunteer coordination and maintaining the Investing in Volunteers Standard

Overseeing fundraising activities and monitoring impact

Supporting HR functions and staff development

Engaging with beneficiaries and the wider community

You Will Be Someone Who
Has experience running a third sector service or venue

Is confident managing staff and volunteers

Understands the policies and processes needed to support a thriving team

Has a track record in fundraising through campaigns, service improvements, or growing donations/membership

Is a strong communicator and community engager

Is passionate about sustainability and helping others lead environmentally conscious lives
