Overview

This role is designed for senior professionals (typically Band Z) with 15–25 years of experience in data centre-to-AWS migration.

Core Responsibilities

Assessment & Strategy:

  • Conduct deep assessments of on-prem infrastructure using AWS tools like Migration Evaluator and Application Discovery Service.
  • Define migration roadmaps aligned with AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP).

Execution & Delivery:

  • Plan and execute migration of applications, data, and infrastructure to AWS Cloud.
  • Collaborate with architects and client IT teams to ensure minimal disruption.

Security & Compliance:

  • Remediate vulnerabilities, support IAM policies, encryption, and key management.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS and organisational security standards.

Optimisation & Support:

  • Monitor performance post-migration using CloudWatch, Datadog.
  • Recommend right-sizing and modernisation opportunities.

Documentation & Governance:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes and configurations.
  • Support TCO analysis and business case development.
