Job Description:
The Mover position supports the College of Health Solutions (CHS) by coordinating facilities operations across multiple locations. Responsibilities include organizing and performing office and equipment moves, assembling and installing furniture and fixtures, and maintaining accurate space and inventory records. The position assists with space planning, renovations, and storage management; ensures compliance with safety and accessibility standards; and serves as a liaison with Facilities Management to address maintenance and repair needs. The position participates in departmental meetings, supports key control processes, and performs related duties to ensure efficient and customer-focused operations.
Essential Duties:
Works closely with the College of Health Solutions and university administration to coordinate all departmental facilities activities to ensure adherence with college and university policies, practices and regulations.
Coordinate and perform office moves, including furniture, equipment, and supply relocation between buildings.
Moves computers and electronic equipment as directed.
Move art objects and displays.
Sets up and removes seating and equipment for special events.
Distributes goods to and from salvage, storage, surplus and central receiving.
Assembles and installs modular office furniture.
May assist in ground maintenance.
Assemble, install, or disassemble office furniture, shelving, whiteboards, TVs, and bookcases.
Conduct routine inspections of offices and common areas to identify maintenance or safety issues.
Coordinate minor repairs (e.g., door handles, ceiling tiles, paint touch-ups) or report issues to central Facilities Management.
Maintain inventory of college-owned furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with campus safety, accessibility, and building use standards.
Assist in setting up new office spaces according to college and university standards.
Support the planning and coordination of office moves, reconfigurations, and renovations.
Maintain and update floor plans, space utilization records, and occupancy data.
Collaborate with Operations or Facilities leadership to optimize use of available space.
Manage and organize storage rooms, supply closets, and off-site storage units.
Maintain inventory lists and labeling systems for stored items.
Coordinate redistribution, surplus, or disposal of unused or obsolete items.
Ensure walkways, exits, and storage areas remain clear and compliant with fire and safety codes.
Participate in periodic safety inspections or audits.
Report and document hazards, leaks, or maintenance issues promptly.
Works closely with the key office to provide documentation for lost keys.
Participates in a variety of departmental meetings to represent space assignments and security issues and ensure all policies and processes are adhered to.
Reports building maintenance problems and related issues to FACMAN and coordinates repairs and resolution.
Performs other duties as assigned to ensure continual efficient operations of department to meet customer service needs.

Working Environment:
The Mover position is part of a collaborative and service-oriented operations team that supports the College of Health Solutions across multiple campus locations.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a variety of academic, office, and event settings.
The role involves frequent physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials and furniture of varying weights and sizes. Must be able to lift/transport pounds.
The position requires regular interaction with faculty, staff, students, and university partners, emphasizing clear communication, professionalism, and a customer-focused approach.
Work may occasionally include early mornings, evenings, or weekends to support office moves, renovations, or special events.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that contributes directly to creating safe, efficient, and welcoming environments that support the college's mission.
Some activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting.
This position is 100% onsite (no remote or hybrid option).
