£45,000 per annum, plus a bonus structure of up to £1,050 per month

We are recruiting for the role of Bodyshop MET Technician on behalf of our client, a highly reputable and professional accident repair centre in Barnstaple. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and skilled MET Technician, also known as a Mechanical, Electrical and Trim Technician, Strip and Fit Technician, or Vehicle MET Fitter, to join a forward-thinking team with a strong focus on quality workmanship and staff development.

As a Bodyshop MET Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient removal and refitting of mechanical, electrical and trim components during the vehicle repair process. Working as part of a dedicated bodyshop team, you will ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in line with manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components in vehicles undergoing repair

Carrying out diagnostic work and identifying parts required for repair or replacement

Working alongside panel beaters, paint technicians and estimators to ensure workflow efficiency

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Ensuring all repairs meet high-quality and safety standards

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in a bodyshop or accident repair environment as an MET Technician

ATA accreditation preferred, though not essential

Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work

Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
