Job Description Summary
Nationally recognized as one of the most outstanding undergraduate institutions, Miami University is looking to fill the role of Bursar Coordinator. This professional staff member reports to the Senior Associate Bursar for all assigned functions and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Bursar's office. Assists in creating and implementing related business processes and is responsible for compliance interpretation and issues for University, Federal and State programs.Job Description
Schedules, coordinates, implements, and analyzes third-party billing and waiver procedures, and serves as a point of contact for third-party administration.
Ensure that bursar and financial policies are followed, and internal controls are enforced.
Evaluate reporting needs and develop ad hoc and daily operational reports based upon those needs using available reporting tools.
Develop a standard set of benchmarking statistics to be gathered and reported throughout the year.
Works with management to review and update office policies and procedures to reflect changes in regulations.
Assist in management, development and support of staff training, research, review, and work with the Bursar and Senior Associate Bursar on Federal Title IV regulations and compliance.
Informs, reviews, and communicates regulatory changes and potential impact with the management of affected bursar procedures, serving in a cross-functional capacity as representative for Bursar and Student Financial Assistance.
As liaison to the One Stop, serves as initial point-of-contact of the Bursar's Office. Provides updates on policies and processes, assigns One Stop tickets and escalations, and manages Bursar assistance to One Stop during peak periods.
Provides education and training regarding 1098-T Tuition Statements to students, families and staff, including detailed analyses to foster understanding of the calculations, handling all 1098-T disputes and requests for corrections via ECSI, and coordinating requests for copies of documents of current or previous tax years. Also responsible for Canadian Tax Form completion.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with higher ed system, ad hoc reporting, customer service, Title IV Federal Financial Aid requirements, and experience in collections
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong critical thinking analysis, problem solving, strong negotiating skills, detail-oriented, ability to handle confidential information, and the ability to establish strong working relationships across campus.
