Policy Manager

Salary: £45,000 + excellent benefits

Location: Hybrid (minimum two days per week in Holborn, London)

Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM)
, a registered charity and internationally recognised professional membership body for doctors working across all aspects of medicines research, development, regulation, and lifecycle management. With over 1,600 members worldwide, FPM's mission is clear:
to advance the science and practice of pharmaceutical medicine for the benefit of patients and the public.

As FPM embarks on the delivery of its
2026–28 Strategy
, we are seeking a
Policy Manager
to play a pivotal role in shaping and driving its policy agenda. This is a unique opportunity to influence national and international debates that impact public health, while strengthening FPM's voice as a trusted and authoritative leader in the life sciences sector.

The Role

As Policy Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of FPM's policy priorities, proactively identifying opportunities to influence UK and global health policy.
  • Build and nurture influential relationships across government, regulators, industry, academia, patient groups, and the wider life sciences community.
  • Oversee evidence-based policy positions, consultation responses, and the delivery of high-profile White Papers.
  • Shape the programme for FPM's flagship annual meeting and deliver thought leadership events, workshops, and policy forums.
  • Provide strategic support to governance committees and expert groups, ensuring alignment with FPM's mission and values.
  • Collaborate with communications colleagues to amplify FPM's policy work across media and digital channels.

About You

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative professional with:

  • Demonstrable experience in policy development, advocacy, or stakeholder engagement within health, life sciences, or related sectors.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • A track record of translating complex policy landscapes into actionable opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence representing an organisation externally.
  • High digital literacy and an innovative approach to process improvement.
