Job Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in care homes and those receiving home care. Your primary focus will be to assist clients in their daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support clients in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
- A good command of English is necessary for effective communication with clients and team members.
- Strong IT skills are beneficial for managing documentation and client records.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for building rapport with clients and their families.
