Lead Systems Test Engineer / Senior Systems Test Engineer - £65,000

When GPS fails and RF signals collapse most systems stop working.

This engineering organisation builds technology that does the opposite.

They design secure communication networks for harsh GPS denied environments. Their newest product is a next generation RF based geofencing system that tracks people and heavy machinery to automatically shut down equipment when someone enters a danger zone.

It is safety critical and extremely challenging to test.

The UK engineering function is being rebuilt and this starts with a brand new Systems Test team. You will help shape not just the product quality but the entire engineering culture.

The opportunity

  • Join at the very beginning of a new Systems Test capability in the UK
  • Lead & support system level testing across hardware, software and RF components
  • Push products until they break and make sure they never break when it matters
  • Work on life saving technology used in some of the harshest environments in the world
  • Influence processes, tools, test strategy and how the future function is built

What you will be doing

  • Full system integration and test
  • Bringing hardware and software modules together and validating end to end performance
  • RF system testing environmental testing shock and vibration and edge case analysis
  • Working closely with R&D across the UK and US
  • Supporting early customer deployments which may include short periods of travel

What we are looking for

  • Experience in Systems Test Integration Test or Verification and Validation
  • Background in RF electronics sensing complex systems or safety critical products
  • Curiosity and a mindset geared toward breaking things to make them better
  • For the Lead role experience guiding a small team or driving a test function
  • For Senior roles one to two years experience is fine if you have the right fundamentals
