We are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to join our school in Doncaster, South Yorkshire at Field Gate School. You will work with an experienced team in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

As an HLTA, your day will be varied and interesting. You will support our teachers by assisting in the classrooms and the community for children who cannot attend school; you will follow a flexible structure and support our children and young people to unlock their passion for learning. You will be based in our Ofsted registered school but will also support 1 ACE provision locally.

You will work within a Trauma-informed practice model where we can support and follow a therapeutic practice.

Our leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the Education sector. We source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career.

Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we seek dedicated people who want to continue their careers with a therapeutically based organisation and leading alternative education provision.

Our Team at Field Gate School
Our School is a small independent SEMH school for pupils aged 6-18; our school is registered and offers education for 30 children with a range of needs,

We are a school without walls, offering child-centred, bespoke education packages where you will support more children in the community. The roles are varied at our school, and you will be able to support our mission in turning children's lives around.

In our school, we encourage our children to Flourish and offer Guidance and Stability.

Hours

Term Time: this goes in line with Doncaster local authority.

Our full-time hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 am - 4:30 pm.

The role is full-time over five days per week.

Requirements

  • Good written and IT skills.
  • Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers.
  • Able to actively listen to others.
  • Valid Driving Licence – this is essential for this role
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
