Location: Cambridge, UK, Babraham Research Campus a minimum of 2 days on site is required. Travel to other UK sites will be required on an occasional basis.

As the world's biggest medical research charity, we've helped bring eleven new cancer drugs to market. However, there is still an urgent need to bring more effective treatments to patients faster.
We have recently developed a new approach to driving therapeutic innovation through the creation of Cancer Research Horizons (CRH). We have brought together Cancer Research UK's established drug discovery teams under one organisation and leadership team, combining our unique pipeline of cancer biology expertise and access to CRUK's world-class academic network, cutting edge technology platforms and clinical expertise to 1) bring new treatments to patients faster and 2) tackle the biggest challenges in discovering cancer drugs by seeking out more radical ideas and embracing risk in our bid to achieve success.
Based at sites in Cambridge, the CRUK Scotland Institute in Glasgow, the Francis Crick Institute in London, and Newcastle University, Cancer Research Horizons employs ~200 staff from both industrial and academic backgrounds
This is a great opportunity for an IT Helpdesk Advisor or IT Support Analyst looking to utilise their skills and experience in a varied role supporting our scientists and research staff with the goal of beating Cancer.
What will I be doing?In this role you will be offering in person support at our Cambridge Research campus and remotely to other sites across the UK, you will provide support for both office and laboratory computing, including desktops, laptops, conferencing solutions & applications (including specialist scientific applications and hardware). Specific duties include:
Provide first and second line support for:
Office hardware, including laptops, monitors, docks and phones.
- Laboratory computers and work with external engineers where necessary.
- Applications (including Office 365 & scientific applications).
- Users on-site and remote users.
- Support and configure laptop & desktop devices and applications (including specialist scientific applications).
- Integrate scientific hardware and software inside the current infrastructure adhering to security policies.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service to all customers and maintains a professional service and approach, leading by example at all times.
- Maintain printers and liaise with engineers where appropriate.
- Manage new starter administration and onboarding including collection and deliveries of laptops
- Create and manage Office 365: calendars, resources & distribution groups when necessary.
- Substantial experience of: Windows Desktop Operating systems, Office 365 (including Teams and OneDrive).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills with proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, both hardware and software.
- Experience of MS Exchange administration.
- Excellent teamwork skills, working collaboratively to solve problems.
- Build relationships with the IT team, end-users and third-party vendors, communicating information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently, maintain a high degree of self-motivation, organise and manage own workload, seeking help and guidance from colleagues and manager when required.
- Ability to prioritise and execute tasks with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience Installation and troubleshooting applications would be beneficial
