General Foreman
to join our team based in
Stafford, UK.
The Role:
To supervise a team responsible for providing high quality civil engineering services to clients and to carry out quality work on site and contribute to towards the goals of the team in an efficient, co-operative and constructive manger.

Initially the successful candidate will be based at our
Brancote site
. This project is the upgrading of an existing waste water treatment plant. Activities being carried out are; foundations, RC works, drainage, tanks, cofferdams & finishing works.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise labour, plant, transport and equipment on site, ensuring that operations are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the project plan.
  • Carry out briefings to ensure teams are aware of the work requirements and associated risks.
  • Carry out all types of ground works to the required specification, standard and timescale, as directed by the Site Manager/Site Supervisor.
  • Operate company vehicles, plant and equipment as required and in accordance with procedures.
  • Complete all necessary documents and paperwork and submit in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all duties and performance standards comply with current health and safety procedures, plant and PPE regulations.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Key Requirements/Qualifications:

  • CSCS card with level 5 NVQ
  • Experience in waste & clean water sector
  • SMSTS
  • Experience of leading a workforce of 30 people
  • Experience of a wide range of construction related skills
  • Experience of relevant plant and equipment
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Awareness of health and safety issues and duty of care towards colleagues
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Understanding of civil projects
  • Ability to use own initiative to solve problems
  • Ability to oversee a team or take in accordance with the project plan
  • Ability to build good relationships
  • Willingness to undertake training and development
