**IT Programme Manager – competitive base + car allowance - Leatherhead (occasional UK travel)**
We're looking for an IT Programme Manager to join the one of our clients where you'll be involved in shaping and delivery of multiple major IT projects. The role will involve defining, initiating and shaping projects from inception, managing change, delivering large transformation programmes and running project teams.
The nature of the role will be to manage your own projects as well as leading a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts looking after multiple £M+ value projects. You will take responsibility for delivering both business and IT focused programmes.
Key responsibilities:
- Shaping Projects – Ability to shape projects from business inception, consider and document all angles and develop projects that are clear with thought out journeys to achieve end goals
- Leadership – The ability to lead teams ensuring that you get the best out of them
- Budgets – Manage multiple project and resourcing budgets
- Defining and agreeing project scope, outputs, timescale, quality and cost criteria to ensure business requirements are understood and agreed.
- Defining and establishing the project structures, roles and teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Planning, managing, monitoring and reporting on the work of programme and project teams to deliver the outputs to the agreed timescale, quality and cost criteria.
- Building and maintaining relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders to enable the achievement of project objectives.
- Manage risks and issues effectively and take accountability for problem resolution
- Effective management and reporting of all project stages to provide structure and control throughout project lifecycle including management of entry / exit criteria for each stage
- Delivering your programme of projects to agreed scope, cost and timeframes
Key skills and experience:
- Demonstrable evidence of shaping programmes and projects from inception to completion
- Programme management experience
- Evidence of hands-on management multiple projects
- Experience of delivering complex projects using a formal delivery methodology
- Demonstrable understanding of project management principles
- A track record in delivering a broad range and diverse scale of technical and business projects including IT and business integration projects
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to deal with conflicting demands
- An advanced attention to detail when developing plans and estimates
- A self-starter who enjoys a challenge and takes the initiative to get the job done
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- Prince 2, PMI, MSP or equivalent certification expected.
