Job Purpose

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and safely. This role involves managing warehouse operatives, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring all operations comply with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
  • Lead a team of warehouse operatives, including shift planning, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure all goods are handled, stored, and shipped accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular inventory checks.
  • Monitor workflow and productivity, identifying process improvements where possible.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, H&S regulations, and ISO standards.
  • Manage equipment maintenance and report faults or hazards promptly.
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to meet operational goals.
  • Prepare shift reports, KPIs, and documentation for management review.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, inventory management, and H&S regulations.
  • Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Forklift licence (FLT) desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime when required.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English required.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Warehousing and Storage (preferred).
  • IOSH/Health & Safety certification (advantageous).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: £39,000–£33,000 per annum (depending on experience).
