Data Integration Specialist

We're looking for an analytical, collaborative, and adaptable Data Integration Specialist to join our Performance Team located at our Head Office in Islington.

£45, £50,000.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As a Data Integration Specialist you will play a key role in ensuring the success of Look Ahead's Move Forward transformation programme where we are currently adopting several new systems and integration structure in the next 12 months.

This role is as much about stakeholder engagement s it is about the technical credits, and will suit applicants with a firm knowledge of data management frameworks as well as experience in project management in a data or IT setting.

You will support the organisation to manage information securely and effectively, and your work will help drive the success of our data strategy.
Look Ahead offers a hybrid working environment. The post holder will work at our Headquarters in Caledonian Road at least two days per week (Mondays and Thursdays).

Within 12 months and as part of a wider transformation team:
  • You will have delivered the completion of integration requirements gathering for all in-scope systems.
  • You will have worked with our SQL developers and delivered accurate and complete data mappings and data protocols for the adopted systems.
  • You will have successfully collaborated with Manifest to implement and test integrations prior to go live.
  • Post go-live you will have provided support and any necessary integration communications or training to the relevant data owners and stakeholders.
  • You will have received positive feedback from internal stakeholders on the approach and quality of your work.
  • You will be compliant with data governance and security standards throughout the programme.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather and document integration requirements.
  • Work closely with our partner Manifest Software Solutions to support integration design, data flow validation, and issue resolution.
  • Plan and be accountable for progress on the data integration work, ensuing milestones are in place and pain points are escalated
  • Lead efforts to map data between systems, define data protocols, and ensure consistency and integrity of data flows.
  • Own and design the integration testing by leading on designing test scripts and delivering a high level of test confidence ahead of go-live
  • Provide expert advice on data architecture, middleware capabilities, and integration best practices.
  • Take an active role in planning and delivering communications at all levels of the organisation on integration progress

What you'll bring:

Skills

Essential:
  • High level of data literacy and strategic theory to interpret and map data across systems.
  • Understanding of database management, data structures, ELPs, data protocols, APIs, and middleware integration patterns.
  • Experience with data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across departments
  • Capable of translating technical requirements into business-friendly language.
  • Strong documentation skills for integration requirements, data mappings, and system interactions.
  • Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
Desirable:
  • Professional qualification in a relevant field
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
Experience

Essential:
  • Proven experience in data integration projects
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and project teams to deliver outcomes
  • Experience handling sensitive data securely and ethically.
Desirable:
  • Experience of working in an NHS, Social care or supported Housing environment
  • Experience working with CRM, finance and/or HR systems
Knowledge

Essential:
  • Understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, APIs and protocols
  • Strong knowledge of database systems, cloud platforms and data governance best practice
  • Demonstrated understanding of data governance and regulatory compliance, including GDPR and internal policies
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of data protection within a supported housing environment
  • Knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, PowerBI
