The rota providing cover to the liver ITU is provided by 16 doctors, mostly at registrar level. Night-time cover is provided by 2 doctors, one of whom will be airway trained.
Successful candidates will be involved in fixed clinical commitments which would be determined by both their clinical training needs and the service requirements of the Liver Intensive Care Unit. The post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call rota on a flexible basis in accordance with the European Working time directive, and local trust policy
The doctor undertaking the fellowship will be scheduled to undertake non-clinical, management and research aspects of the post through dedicated rostering.
