Assistant Project Manager – Client-Side

We're currently looking to expand our Project Management team in our Winchester. We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager (PM grade) with ideally 2–3 years of experience, preferably within Healthcare (though this is not essential), who is capable of supporting small capital projects. The role requires a good understanding of contract administration (NEC experience is a bonus), strong client-facing skills, and a solid grasp of core PM responsibilities including risk management, programme management, stakeholder engagement, and progress reporting. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with the flexibility to travel regularly to sites across the South Coast region.

Requirements

To support and assist with the provision of project management services, including technical advice, pre and post-contract project management services.

• Clear commitment to achieving chartered status.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in consultancy project management in construction.
• Able to demonstrate experience across several sectors and types of projects.
• Proven experience in supporting the delivery of Programs and Project management.
• Self-motivated and can set project direction aligned with business goals, inspire teams, and drive performance across multiple projects.
• Deep understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination, procurement, and contract administration.
• Skilled in budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and maximising profitability best value while delivering quality.
• Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and resolving issues before they impact timelines or budgets.
• Proficient in various contract forms (NEC, JCT, FIDIC, etc.) and ensuring the commercial success of projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to manage complex and challenging project timelines, ensuring milestone achievement. Experience and understanding of using Asta Power Project and/or MS Project would be advantageous.
• Ensures projects adhere to regulatory standards, health & safety requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.
• Clear, concise communicator with ability to report progress, challenges, and strategies to leadership and clients.
