Join Our Team as an Independent Form F Assessor

Rees Parent and Child Fostering is a new Independent Fostering Agency based in the West Midlands area.

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Form F Assessors to join our team, who are happy to travel around the Midlands region.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in assessing the suitability of prospective foster carers by conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations and ensuring that the needs of children remain the top priority. This position requires a strong understanding of child development, parent and child arrangements, and relevant fostering legislation. Additionally, excellent communication skills are essential to engage effectively with applicants and facilitate a thorough assessment process.

About you

As an experienced assessor, you will work within the agreed agency timescales to assess and prepare prospective foster carer applicants. You would also be expected to be available for Supervision with the Registered Manager during the assessment process and will need to attend training with Rees Parent and Child Fostering, as requested.

Although this role is a remote working position, you will be required to visit potential carers within their home, and attend with them at panel - therefore, driving is essential.

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised professional social work qualification (DipSW or equivalent)

  • Must have a current Social Work England registration

  • Knowledge of childcare legislation and other relevant legislation/initiatives about foster care

  • Experience working within a fostering service

  • Experience in undertaking competence-based Form F Assessments

  • Willingness to work on a flexible basis, e.g. evenings and weekends

  • Ability to produce high-quality written assessment reports

  • Confidence and proficiency in presenting to Fostering Panels

  • Clean driving license and own transport.

Fees: The Assessors will benefit up to £2,500 per assessment and comprehensive professional support and training, plus travel expenses, and will be expected to work flexible hours.
