Permitting & Streetworks Coordinator

Company: Gigawatt Industries Ltd

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Remote, Hybrid, or Office-Based (Head Office – Doncaster)

Salary: £37,500 – £42,500 per annum

About Us

Gigawatt Industries Ltd is a fast-growing Independent Connections Provider (ICP) delivering turnkey EV charging and electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. We manage every stage of project delivery — from grid connections and substations to on-site civils, electrical installations, and commissioning.

We're a results-driven business that values accountability, efficiency, and delivery. Our culture is built around outcomes, not hours — we care about what gets achieved. We encourage autonomy, initiative, and innovation, giving our team the freedom to deliver exceptional results.

As a forward-thinking company, we invest heavily in digital systems and modern workflows to make project delivery smarter, faster, and more effective.

We're now seeking a highly capable Permitting & Streetworks Coordinator, ideally with experience in the ICP or DNO environment, to take full ownership of all local-authority and highways permissions that enable our excavation and construction activities to proceed safely and compliantly.

The Role

This position is suited to someone experienced in managing permits across multiple councils or city authorities simultaneously, ideally within the power-connections or utilities sector.

The role forms part of Gigawatt's Grid Connections Department, working closely with our civils, electrical, and project-management teams to secure all necessary permissions and ensure connection works proceed safely and on schedule.

You'll coordinate all Section 50s, TTROs, and NRSWA permits, ensuring approvals are secured on time and all works comply with local-authority requirements.

You'll work closely with our civils, electrical, and grid-connections teams while liaising directly with highways departments, traffic-management providers, and council officers. The role requires strong organisation, clear communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities across a live national portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and manage Section 50, Section 171, TTRO, and NRSWA applications with councils and highway authorities.
  • Liaise with local authorities and highways officers to secure permits to dig, road closures, and traffic-management approvals.
  • Coordinate with traffic-management contractors to plan TM drawings, signage, diversions, and implementation dates.
  • Monitor and track all permit timelines, renewals, and conditions to prevent project delays.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with council representatives, highways departments, and third parties.
  • Provide regular progress updates to Project Managers and Delivery Teams, ensuring permits align with construction programmes.
  • Identify embargo periods, holiday restrictions, or conflicting works early and plan around them.
  • Maintain accurate digital records of all submissions, renewals, and approvals within company systems (Notion / Google Workspace).
  • Ensure compliance with NRSWA, Street Manager, and all applicable local-authority requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal permitting processes to enhance turnaround times and compliance.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience within streetworks, utilities, ICP, or DNO permitting.
  • Understanding of NRSWA, Section 50, and traffic-management processes.
  • Ability to coordinate permitting activities across multiple local authorities.
  • Familiarity with Street Manager and council permit portals.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and confident managing your own workload.
  • Competent with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of EV-charging or electrical-infrastructure projects advantageous.

What We Offer

  • Salary: £37,500 – £42,500 (depending on experience)
  • Holiday: 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
  • Working style: Flexible – remote, hybrid, or occasional office visits to Doncaster
  • Company pension scheme
  • Career growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding national ICP

How to Apply

If you have experience coordinating permits within ICP, DNO, or utilities environments and enjoy working autonomously in a results-driven, forward-thinking business, we'd love to hear from you.
