We are urgently seeking experienced Female Punjabi-speaking Health Care Support Workers / Healthcare Assistants to join our specialist care teams in the Yardley (B26) area of Birmingham.

We have recently been awarded two long-term care packages supporting two female Punjabi-speaking service users, and we are now recruiting dedicated staff who can meet their cultural, linguistic, and personal care needs.

About the Role

We require compassionate and reliable support workers who have experience in care settings, ideally within the South Asian community. You will be working on a 1:1 basis within a team environment providing daily support to promote their independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with Medication
  • Assisting with personal care
  • Preparing and cooking fresh daily meals
  • Light domestic and household tasks
  • Providing companionship and help and assist with daily exercises
  • Assisting residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Implementing care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to enhance residents' quality of life
  • Assisting with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals (training provided if necessary)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the people who use our service with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming as above
  • Supporting individuals with mobility and daily activities to promote independence assisting with daily exercises
  • Implementing care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences
  • Communicating effectively with residents, family members, and healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records of care
  • Ensuring a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to enhance the people who use are service and help them improve their quality of life

Due to the client's preferences and cultural needs, Punjabi-speaking female staff are essential. English is not the first language of the service users.

Shift Pattern (Daily)

  • 8:00am – 9:00am
  • 12:00pm – 1:00pm
  • 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Shift Patterns can be flexible

Shifts run Monday to Sunday, offering stable and continuous work.

We require carers who can commit to 1-3 hours per day, with flexibility to cover multiple calls if desired.

We pay £13.50 up to £16.00 depending on experience

Requirements

  • Female Punjabi speaker (essential)
  • Experience working within a care or support environment Min 1 years exp
  • Understanding of South Asian cultural needs (desirable)
  • DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Work references
  • Training certificates (desirable, but full training will be provided)
