Senior Support Worker
LOCATION
: Llanelli, Carmarthenshire (SA15)
SALARY
: £ £15.00* per hour
Due to continued growth, we are urgently seeking full time (35 hours per week) Senior Support Workers to join our team at Gwynfryn.
About Gwynfryn
At Gwynfryn we provide a supportive setting for ten people with Mental Health needs, where they can feel comfortable, safe and happy. We appreciate the value of a warm welcome and a relaxed and homely environment.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service including
- Managing a team of Support Workers
- Providing high standards of care and support for the people we support, in line with care and support plans
- Encourage good community relationships by promoting a variety of activities
- Accurately report, record and maintain records as required and working to care plans
- Liaise with health professionals and their families
- Complete supervisions and audits
- To ensure that all duties undertaken by reporting staff are performed to required standards, and that all such staff contribute in a positive manner to provide a happy, efficient and homely atmosphere within the Home.
Essential Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of QCF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care
- Proven experience at Team Leader or Shift Leader level (or higher)
- Residential care experience is essential (not solely domiciliary care)
Experience within a mental health setting is highly preferred
Not limited to elderly care or learning disabilities
Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act (MHA) and associated legislation
Candidates must demonstrate awareness of the complexities involved in supporting individuals under this framework
Must be flexible and prepared to work:
Evenings and weekends as part of a rota
- Occasional night shifts (very rarely, as required)
