MyFlowers is an online flower shop. It was founded in 2020 in London. We deliver fresh flower bouquets and gifts (add-ons) everywhere in London within 3 hours.

We are looking for an operations manager to orchestrate daily business functions to ensure efficiency and productivity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations: Ensure smooth, efficient daily operations, coordinating departments, and maintaining workflows. Develop and improve SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), use the 5S method in lean management.
  • Manage staff: Hire, onboard, train, mentor and supervise employees in Florist Dept florists, 5-10 florists' assistants) and Logistics Dept (head of logistics and about 20 couriers). Plan hiring of temporary employees for holiday periods (X-Mas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day).
  • Ensure quality and SLA (Service Level Agreement): Adhere to company quality standards, conduct quality control.
  • Ensure safety and compliance: Conduct safety audits and risk assessments, developing and implementing safety protocols and training, investigating incidents, and maintaining records to meet legal and industry requirements. Ensure the company follows GDPR rules for handling personal data.
  • Strategic planning: Ensure smooth operations, set operational goals and implement strategic plans during peak periods (e.g. add night shifts, hire and manage extra staff).
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Efficiently collaborate with call center, IT and other departments to streamline processes and improve overall service.
  • Inventory management: Monitor stock levels, use FIFO approach, assist with ordering stock, identify discrepancies, and ensure that quantities of fresh flowers and other products are accurate and maintained.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a similar role in e-commerce fulfilment, dark-store, meal-kits, light manufacturing or print-on-demand;
  • Experience in managing a team of 25-50 employees with the help of team leaders;
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Tech savvy: MS Office (Word, Excel), Gmail (Google Drive, Google Meet);
  • Fluent English and right to work in the UK;
  • Ability to work overtime during peak periods (X-Mas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day);
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
