Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Leader to oversee daily operations within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for early childhood education and demonstrate strong leadership skills. As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes learning and development. This role will then have the progression to develop into a Deputy Manager for our setting.

Duties

  • Supervise and support nursery staff to ensure high-quality childcare is provided at all times.
  • Manage daily activities, including planning educational programmes that cater to children's developmental needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's operations and overall environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards within the nursery.
  • Provide guidance and training to new staff members to promote best practices in childcare.
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere that encourages collaboration and professional growth among staff.

Skills

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a nursery or childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage a diverse team effectively while promoting a supportive work environment.
  • Experience working with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and creativity in engaging with them.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to drive initiatives forward.
