Senior Portfolio Manager - St James's – 12 month fixed term contractPurpose of Role

Join The Crown Estate as a Senior Portfolio Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering proactive portfolio management. You'll help maximise financial, social, and environmental value across our Head Lease and Non Core Portfolio, ensuring our approach remains customer-centric and innovative. This role is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the allocated portfolio, delivering delegated activities and projects, and supporting the Head of Portfolio Management (St James's) in managing the broader portfolio. You'll collaborate with Group Partners and retained advisers to deliver best-in-class management, safety, and value creation, using customer intelligence and technology to evolve our offer.

Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities
  • Maximise value and performance in line with strategy (financial, social, and environmental)

  • Set and deliver asset-level strategies and plans aligned with overall business unit strategy

  • Proactively manage business risk, including health & safety, with timely escalation when required

  • Take responsibility for asset-level profit & loss tracking

  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships, ensuring outstanding service and value

  • Manage stakeholder relationships to support strategic objectives

  • Oversee lease events and re-gears, drawing on wider team support

  • Shape and implement customer mix strategies using consumer data and insight

  • Monitor performance and contribute to property valuation processes

  • Support capital markets activity, including preparing approval papers for relevant projects

  • Coordinate delivery of multiple external consultants and service providers

  • See transactions through from initiation to completion

Most Important Skills-Based Requirements
  • Experience managing a diverse range of customers and developing partnerships that deliver value

  • Background in property, real estate, or a similar sector, with responsibility for a large profit & loss

  • Proven ability to manage a variety of assets, adding value beyond financial outcomes

  • Strong understanding of value drivers, asset performance oversight, and commercial awareness

  • Ability to write reports, make recommendations, and present concise, relevant summaries

  • Excellent negotiation skills for headlease re-gears, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships internally and externally

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, resilience, and diplomacy

  • Highly motivated team player who can also work independently to achieve goals
