The Role

We are looking for a Positional Analyst to join our First Team Scouting department and undertake the positional analysis workflow within the team as part of the transition towards the aims of our future objectives.

In this exciting role, you will proactively support the development and growth of the player assessment process, with a specific focus on the goalkeeper position.

Your day-to-day
  • Lead and manage talent identification processes - you will be crucial in the delivery of a best-in-class global talent identification and evaluation process at identification and assessment level for the selected positional group
  • Champion the impactful use of technology - you'll diligently utilise all technology and software provided to identify, analyse and manage lists of prospective players
  • Support with critical decision making - you will be actively involved in leveraging detailed insights to help assess and determine potential player recruitment, as well as key decisions relating to player pathways
  • Analyse prospective players - you'll be be entrusted to analyse potential target players, via video analysis and attendance at live matches and you'll undertake all due diligence on potential recruits
  • Collaborate with our Technical department - you will relish the opportunity to work closely with wider colleagues to undertake research to understand market trends, with particular reference to emerging talent age groups (U14-U21)
  • Compile valuable information on target players - you'll partner with our Global and UK Analysis teams to compile dossiers and reports on key targets, ensuring a constant flow of information between the Positional Analysis team and the global network
  • Act as a team player - you will take pride in providing inspiration, motivation and encouragement to all members of the team and you'll partner with our wider Analysis team to support performance advantage, increased intelligence and succession planning
  • Identify opportunities for growth and development - you'll actively seek out learning and development opportunities and you'll support and challenge fellow colleagues

  • Proven track record in football - you come with experience as a Recruitment Analyst at an elite level football club
  • Credible and knowledgeable expert - you're proud of your extensive knowledge of the global markets for Men's emerging talent players
  • Champion of best practice - you hold a detailed understanding of varying working methodologies and current and emerging best practices within elite sports analysis
  • Best-in-class communication skills - you're confident in your ability to deliver and communicate insights to key colleagues across our club
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail - you back your ability to work across a variety of projects concurrently and you're able to produce insightful and valuable reports on key targets, without compromising on accuracy or quality
  • Courageous team player - you're motivated by a hunger to continuously challenge and evolve and you use your exceptional inter-personal skills to positively contribute to our strong levels of team cohesion
  • Flexible, adaptable and accurate approach - you are proud of your resilience and your ability to retain a high standard of output in a ever changing fast paced environment
