Refuse Operative

WARD are looking for a motivated Refuse Operative to join our busy compaction team.

The role includes travelling with our refuse drivers and aiding them by opening/ closing gates to allow access, moving bins to the back of the vehicle and returning them and liaising with various customers whilst on the round..

This is a physically demanding role and also requires good customer service when speaking with or customers.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of being a Warehouse Operative include:

• Loading/Unloading of compaction vehicles

-Moving Bins of various size

-Assisting in access of properties such as banksman and gate opening

• Customer service to allow access for vehicles and answering customer questions whilst on route

• Additional duties as directed by your Line Manager

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Excellent personal approach to work

• Excellent time keeping

• Physically fit and ability to use correct manual handling techniques

• Conscientious and quality focused

• Good communication skills

• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
