The people we support may have spent an extended period in hospital or another setting, therefore we utilise a person-centred approach; empowering individuals to become as independent as possible within their own homes
About the RoleAre you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? We are looking for dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to join our team supporting individuals with complex mental health needs in the East Sussex region.
Job OpportunityWhat you'll do:
- Provide person-centred support to individuals in their own homes and community settings.
- Help service users achieve independence and improve their quality of life.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and local services.
- To facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos and promotes independence.
- To complete dynamic risk assessments and support plans.
- Promote wellbeing and appropriately manage risk.
- Ensure adherence to company and national policies and procedures.
- To work flexibly as required by the service; this may require some working outside of your normal hours to provide consistent support.
- You will receive full induction training and continued professional development
- Excellent support from experienced management and the wider clinical leadership team
- Access to our EAP program offering telephone support, full counselling services and discounts on a range of shops and services
- A wellbeing day in addition to annual leave, to use however you wish
- 28 days annual leave, increasing with length of service up to 5 additional days
- Staff recognition and rewards.
- Monthly workshops with our Clinical Team as well as access to our library of previous sessions
What we're looking for:
- Experience in mental health or social care (preferred but not essential – full training provided).
- Compassion, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
- Own car and valid UK driving licence are essential for travel across East Sussex.
- Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes.
- Experience of using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques.
- Able to respond to changes in an individual's needs and meet deadlines.
- To encourage and manage participation and involvement from the people we support.
- Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft office programmes
