The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely movement of vehicles between sites, customers, suppliers, and auctions. The Trade Plate Driver will play an essential role in supporting our operational flow by ensuring vehicles are delivered and collected reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and deliver vehicles using trade plates in accordance with UK road regulations and company procedures.
  • Collect and drop off vehicles at designated sites, customer locations, or partner facilities across London and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct basic vehicle checks before handover, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and documenting any visible issues.
  • Complete all required paperwork and digital records accurately, including delivery notes, mileage logs, and vehicle condition reports.
  • Communicate clearly with the logistics team, customers, and management regarding delivery schedules, route updates, or delays.
  • Ensure professional conduct when interacting with customers and representing the Greater Metal Company brand.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Support additional transport or yard duties when required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Trade Plate Driver or similar vehicle movement role.
  • Valid UK driver's licence with a clean driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of UK road laws and safe driving practices.
  • Good understanding of vehicle checks and the ability to identify minor issues.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and professional customer-facing behaviour.
  • Good knowledge of London routes and traffic conditions is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple deliveries per day.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £120.00 per day

Work Location: On the road
