Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom RBS Full time £40,000 - £80,000 per year

Join us as a Digital Product Owner

  • In this role, you'll support the digital delivery of our organisation through digital experiences, propositions, capabilities and releases
  • Your daily responsibilities will see you working collaboratively to provide great, end-to-end customer experiences as you deliver a prioritised backlog to bring propositions to pilot
  • Make a far-reaching impact through your work and enhance your career profile as you deliver digital experiences that meet customer needs at key moments to resolve pain points
What you'll do

Day-to-day, you'll identify opportunities and provide insights that impact on digital experiences. You'll also maintain the release train, including plans and estimation and the management of interdependencies to provide cross-team synchronisation on how work impacts the customer.

We'll look to you to lead the development and improvement of digital customer experiences by working with designers, delivery teams and engineers to deliver customer outcomes. As well as this, you'll make sure that the backlog is maintained and that teams collaborate effectively.

In addition, you'll be responsible for:

  • Creating and driving the delivery of the experience backlog while effectively prioritising work to maintain completion of sprint goals and tasks
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams and supporting the identification of risks and issues
  • Managing the delivery of change from vision and inception through to post-live validation and monitoring, making sure customer value and engagement impacts are considered
  • Facilitating the planning, timing, and execution of delivery roadmaps and backlog through aligning the vision, planning and interdependencies of many teams
  • Providing cross-team synchronisation through the delivery of the portfolio and contributing to the platform vision and roadmap
The skills you'll need

To be successful in this role, you'll have experience of product ownership in digital financial services as a Product Owner or Product Manager with the ability to define and implement strategic direction for future customer experiences and to provide expertise on digital channels, including on mobile and online and through digital propositions.

Furthermore, you'll have Agile delivery and cross-functional leadership, leading delivery across the digital software lifecycle across multiple teams. You'll have familiarity with digital design principles, accessibility standards, and customer journey design to ensure inclusive and impactful experiences. We'll look to you to demonstrate innovative thinking through support and the delivery of customer outcomes.

You'll also need:

  • The ability to quickly gain an understanding of technical architecture in order to deliver technology solutions and adapt to changing technology landscapes
  • Experience of adapting to quickly changing environments, sharing knowledge and coaching relevant teams to deliver value
  • To be data driven, skilled in using data and analytics tools to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple franchises, influence decision-making, and align product outcomes with strategic business goals
