Hertford House is an independent boutique hotel, restaurant, bar and event space based in the centre of Hertford town, we are looking for talented, happy, industry professionals with a passion for the food and drink industry to join the Hertford House team.

We believe in exceptional service and hospitality but equally important is your passion, energy and determination, so we're looking for people with personality and enthusiasm to join the team.

We're looking for an experienced hotel receptionist to join our team in a part time capacity.

Hotel Receptionist

Duties:

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel and restaurant
  • Check-in and check-out guests, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately
  • Answer phone calls and emails and respond to guest enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
  • Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns, escalating to management when necessary
  • Process payments and maintain accurate records of guest transactions. Including refunds, discounts and invoices.
  • Assist with all types of reservations and room assignments, walk in, online, via telephone or booking engines

  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area

  • Up sell rooms and maximise revenue

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in using computer systems and hotel management software
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and procedures is a plus
