Context
We currently have an opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing environment and engineering team in Birmingham. This position within our team will suit a committed and ambitious individual who can demonstrate strong technical and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team.
One of the main roles of the landscape team is to provide a service to the wider SYSTRA business. This includes, but is not confined to, large rail infrastructure projects, nature based solutions for water utilities and transport and urban regeneration strategies. Additionally, the landscape team is seeking to broaden its portfolio to cover many more areas of public realm design and urban regeneration. The scope of the projects ranges from small scale to large scale masterplanning and covers both domestic and international markets.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate some practical work experience and have a good understanding of technical details and specifications. This is a good opportunity for an enthusiastic Landscape specialist to further their career in a highly motivated and inspirational environment.
Missions/Main Duties
- Support and assist the Landscape Discipline Lead on project deliverables, and with the general operations of the Landscape Discipline.
- Assist team members with production and technical deliverables.
- Mentor junior members of the team in all aspects of landscape architecture, including the production of design reports and high quality graphics
- Assist Developing and implementing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery, and the quality, of output within the discipline and on individual projects.
- Maintain strong working relationships, communication, knowledge sharing, innovation sharing with SYSTRA resource centres around the world and our industry partners and supply chain.
- Participate in industry events to engage with new Clients and Partners.
An important part of the role will include working with the resources across the projects – from local resources to those based in the rest of the UK and internationally. This will include participating in the organisation of document control within different sites in the UK and overseas and ensuring that they are aligned with the project requirements and client expectations.
Profile/Skills
- Degree qualified in Landscape Architecture or similar relevant discipline
- Strong experience delivering Landscape Architecture projects
- CMLI or working towards
